I agree. What should happen is the port maintainer verifies that the
updated download is still safe.
For future reference, though, instead of editing the Portfile, one
can simply do `sudo port install darcs skip_checksum=yes`.

Several ports including libfuse got broken yesterday. They now
fail to parse, which is why the portindex no longer includes them.
Hopefully they will be fixed ag
tabs instead. Using spaces means all editors will present the
Portfile the same way. Every single modern editor (including emacs
and vim) has the capability of doing 4-space soft tabs, so please use
it.

installed and tested axel, I find it's fairly good, about as fast as
prozilla (I have experience of using Gentoo which uses prozilla).
My question is how to hack portfetch.tcl to use axel instead. Sure
simply change curl to axel does not work.

Ah. Well, since port allows you to override specific variables using
a variable=value syntax at the end of the command line, you could try
setting bindir yourself there.

Actually, I take it back. While I firmly believe this is a problem,
when I do a port fetch rb-daemons myself, it's not even triggering
the livecheck (passing the -d switch should show you if it does). So
I'm really not sure why it's bypassing gem.

Ok, looking further it seems zlib and apr also did this.
So for some reason, `sudo port upgrade -uf subversion` decided to
reinstall *all* dependencies, as near as I can tell.
Any ideas what's going on?

is a symlink to that
location, *and* libtool resolves symlinks before passing it off to
the utilities it calls. I checked, and grep reports problems on the
symlink, not on the destination file, when called with a symlink that
points to nothing.
