Hi,
I was wondering if there was any progress here. I updated the ticket
with the debug output and did a MacPort migration to OS X 10.6 by the
directions.
Thanks.

Yep, I see that. Thanks for the idea.
I think the problem is that I'm trying to start 8.4 against a DB
cluster I had in 8.3. Is there a way to upgrade the DB?
Thanks.

Is it possible 8.4 pg_ctl is compiled with old, 8.3 paths? Or is my

Sure will. But how do I get the full debug output?
Thanks.

I'm getting an error when installing PostGIS. Note that "ls
/opt/local/lib/*proj*" gives me this:
/opt/local/lib/libproj.0.5.5.dylib /opt/local/lib/libproj.dylib
/opt/local/lib/libproj.0.dylib /opt/local/lib/libproj.la
/opt/local/lib/libproj.a

OK, so doing an uninstall and reinstall fixed the issue, though I
suspect the steps I did from the previously-mentioned post may have
helped.

Thank you for all the great info. I'll be looking into this in the

Hi All,
I'm getting this when I attempt to install PostGIS:
Error: Target org.macports.build returned: shell command " cd
"/opt/local/var/macports/build/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_ports_databases_postgis/work/postgis-1.3.1"
&& make all ICONV_LDFLAGS="-L/opt/local/l
do I
go about getting a local copy of the php5 port. Also, am I missing
anything?
Thank you for all the help! And I'll be sure to report back my experience.

Hi All,
I haven't gotten any response as to how I go about getting the
php_dbase extension for the php5 package. Is it possible? Should I
just drop MacPorts and go back to Fink?
Thanks!

How does one go about installing php_dabse for the php5 package? And
for that matter, how does one go about installing any of the other php
extensions that are commented out in the php.ini file?
Thanks for the help!

OK, I see, n00b ignorance on my part. I'm use to installing "dev" packages
under Debian systems so that I can build other software from source. What's
the equivalent under MacPorts?
Thanks a bunch.
