Using pdflatex with the beamer package leads to "pgfcore.sty" not found.
Looking through the log I find that macros are found on this path:
/opt/local/share/texmf-texlive-dist/tex/latex/beamer/beamer.cls
but the only pgf macros are in this directory:

phpmyadmin. It got about 15 minutes into it and I control-C'd it.
What is the best way to clean up the partial mess I am sure I have left behind?

finish the job and the return to the subject? Other option is to open Ubuntu
in a virtual box, install LAMP using taksel and finish the project and then
