Hi guys,
I tried to compile octave but it failed. I tried cleaning it and
compiling again and it failed with the same error. Is this a bug? It
seems that it tried to make the tests when it failed but I'm not sure.

I have recently started using Leopard and have found that ports that require
X11 cannot find the necessary libraries. This is frustrating as they worked
fine on Tiger.

There is a suggested fix of manually setting the CXX value in the
build directory. Which I've done, only to hit another issue:

I'm trying to "port install cheetah", but keep getting "Checksum (md5)
mismatch for cheetah-1.7.tar.gz". I've tried a selfupdate, and then run
"port clean cheetah", but no joy.
Is there any way I can fix, or work around this error please?
