Hi,
I am preparing a project with GMP sources included within my project
sources, so I will need to compile GMP directly without Macports support. I
have tried to compile GMP from scratch, and it seems to compile correctly,
but when I try to run my app, I get some problems related to weak symbols.

The PortIndex is included in svn, you don't need to build it yourself.
Daniel is committing it with a script every 12 hours (as far as I know).

Is this a simple oversight, or are there issues with adding the sockets

Hi,
As an occasional Portfile editor, I prefer to use svn to manage Portfiles
than rsync because that allow me to check diffs or changelogs easily.
One problem is PortIndex.
Everytime I port update to get the latest port tree,
I have to rebuild, which takes a long time to finish.

This isn't a correct solution, because
