outdated".
This upgrading is not urgent for me, but I would like to know how to fix it

today I tried out Macports by installing the new Gimp 2.4rc.
After hours of depency tracking... still non idea, why this was necesarry... I
got Gimp compiled all right and running.

BTW, upstream said the real bug was in autoconf (but the latest version
wasn't used). So, other ports could suffer from the same problem.
