Macports newbie here. Questions:
1) Is there a 'pretend' option for port, whereby when I do port --
pretend install xfce4, it will list down all the dependencies and
packages that will be downloaded and installed?
2) Is it possible to do parallel fetches of packages? I.e. when

I build and ran the git-1.4.4.4 from source, but that produced the same
error as I had previously posted. I used the new stable git-1.5.0 and it
worked with this command test:
