OK - so what goes wrong here, is that the developer has made some
un-published changes to the code-base.
In particular :

Hi,
AFAIK it might be useful to have Tiger binaries and e.g. not updating from
sources all the time. That way, Tiger users might have less current versions of
software but at least you might have some version of freeciv instead of
nothing, as an example.
