I read the stuff in Extended.lyx about integration with noweb and thought to
try it.
I downloaded the noweb source and built and installed it and put it on the
path and manpath. I re-configured lyx, made clean and made and installed it.
The promised 3 new document styles did not appear. I exp

With help I got the noweb interface running, but what I have does not seem
worth using.
Lyx now sports the 3 promised doc styles and if article(noweb) is used then
lyx will offer to export to noweb, or ascii custom...
I appear to have lost the ability to generate .ps, .dvi, .html etc.

ok - I'll try to fix it.

I would like to add a link between noweb document scrap paragraphs and gvim,
to allow gvi

They do not - they are just an lyx paragraph of scrap type in a noweb layout
document type. After lyx exports to noweb format, noweb (notangle) can be
used to collect the scraps and build the source from them.

Thanks Angus - I will work on this over the next few days. I expect there
will be a few devils in the details.
Where are the lyx commands described. Could someone please help. It is
probably obvious :-( but I have not found them so far.
sampleclient.tcl is a nice example - but where do I find a complete list of
the commands (get-layout, get-xy ...) and their responses?
I'm looking at using gvim to edi
lyx-1.3.3/development/lyxserver/ has two demos, one in tcl and one in C.
The C example needs xforms, which I have not yet installed (I'm using a GTK
lyx build).
The tcl example needs 'the addinput command'. Where does this come from - I
have 'ActiveTcl 8.4.3.0 May, 2003' installed, but I se
I have tried talking to the server using shell echo and cat commands in
different terminal windows.
Lyx just seems to parrot the commands e.g.
echo "LYXCMD:sampleclient:hello" >.lyxpipe.in
gets
INFO:sampleclient:hello:
(from cat .lyxpipe.out) and
echo "LYXCMD:sampleclient:get-xy:" >.lyxpi
The C server example uses xforms - I have been unable to access it on the net
recently, to download it from its project page. Angus Leeming seems to be
involved - is that the same man? How do I get it?
Happy new year everyone

Has anyone got a decent work around for this, before I get buried in
developing a perl fixer and a makefile?
Cheers

ey did, so I'll keep trying.
PS is rotating the figure (90) in Lyx going to kill the HTML? - that would
make single Lyx -> .ps and .html difficult too.

I hoped this would go away with 1.2.2 - but I've just built the new tarball
and :-(
When I insert a .eps file into a figure float, it looks fine on the lyx
screen, but I get two errors on .ps output - one complaining of a missing '}'
immediately followed by one compliainig of an unnecessary '}'

Thats it - thanks Jürgen.
I am sure did not need to do a new line in older lyx incarnat
I use lyx for mathematical papers, and just for thinking over some analysis,
all the time - its a really nice tool.
I have one little request:
The math panel (I am using the 1.3.5 rpm for susie 9.1) eats half my screen
width, leaving only half for the document. This may depend on the GUI librar
