Hello JMarc,
I found the following system variables (see below). Interestingly the R folders
does not show up on any of the three lines. Also, some of the items (Python39)
have long been gone, apparently with no ill effect. I also did a search for
Rscript.exe (see screenshot below). It shows up

I was very happy with 2.4.3 and have moved to 2.4.4.
1.
LyX 2.4.4 still seems to have one subtle issue that I experienced with 2.4.3
(knitr is not found) - I had to Reconfigure LyX, after which knitr was found.
2.
It seems also to have fixed a bug that was present in 2.4.3: After running
