Headers and Lyx layouts

Hi, I want to creat a report in Lyx. Standard style, 2cm margins, with header etc. Im new to Lyx and laTex and was wondering, Im using the default layout at the moment. I havent figured out how to get different layouts and anyway, the examples Ive seen dont look like what I want anyway. So Im using

How to open tex file in Latex

Hi I download the tex file from La Tex Zip Files and It seems I cannot open thetex file in Lyx and Do you know how to do this? Best Jeremy

KOMA-script book -- author is blank when I display pdf

Hello, I've selected KOMA-script book for my next work. I've marked the author as "Author" and have tried putting it under the title and on a new page. But neither case works. Title and text displays in pdf, but author doesn't. Can some kind soul suggest what I'm doing wrong? Many thanks,
