backup directory in preferences-paths. When I restart it, all changes are gone.
What might be

I'm using a modified Memoir document class. I have 6 parts in the
book, and the parts numbering needs to be in the table of contents
as roman numerals. Unfortunately, III, IV and VI but up against

Be aware that fancyhdr doesn't work with the Memoir document class.
It gives an error about so and so already defined.
Memoir has its own functions that accomplish the same thing as
fancyhdr. What I do is set my LyX document to "plain" page type in
