Alas, your Kornel didn't show any errors, but it didn't show the graph n the
generated dvi or pdf !!!
Alains problem was, that he insert the image into the
caption, which causes an error. It is a bit difficu

Yes, but for some reason this error was uncorrectable in his lyx-file.
You can cut the image from the caption line
and paste it into a new line with standard layout.
The only problem is, that LyX doesn't realize, that
there was a graphic inserted, so it doesn't write

Thank you for the answer! I'll just wait for Lyx 1.3.3 entering Debian
unstable then.

The glyphs are better. ae is, as far as I understand it, a kind of a
"patchwork". It uses some type1 glyphs (from different sources) but also
bitmap fonts, if type1 glyphs are not ava

Do you have the memoir package installed in the appropriate place? Did you
run texhash after installing it?
Jürgen.

Hi all,
After looking at LyX a while ago, I've come back and am impressed with
the progress. LyX on Mac OS X is just gorgeous.
Anyway, I teach high school math, and would love to use LyX to typeset
tests and such. I realize there will be some problems (I need to leave
lots of blank spaces for

Todd,
Have you tried using Grace? Lyx accepts Grace files as figures, and it's
pretty good at producing any kind of graph.

In LaTeX I've been using mfpic because it seems an easy way to create
PDF compatible files and had commands like \function{-8}{8}{.1}{x**2}
which would draw x^2 on a coordinate plane from x=-8 to x=8 graphing a
new point every .1.
this is very easy to handle with pst-plot

Angus,
What am I to do in the meantime? Is this an issue of qt with lyx? Of the
specific versions of either or both? On my older workstat
