With the most recent fontspec version, it should work via XeTeX export.
(XeTeX export is new in the upcoming version
If one wants to use ttf or otf fonts via luatex is this possible in
Lyx? Or do I need to export a LaTeX file from Lyx and hand modify it?

No, it's not. That are just the headers. fontconfig is not even included in
the (Pro) distribution AFAICS.

I have not tried it, but what happens if you take the *.ttf fonts from the
tarball (latex-ttf-fonts) and install them via t
Hi list,
I have a remarkable problem installing latex-ttf-fonts-0.1-1 for my qt-Version
of Lyx1.3.2 on SuSE8.2.
rpm or YaST2 says that the package lates-ttf-fonts needs fontconfig, but this
package is available from the beginning under /usr/X11R6/include. I cannot
understand why rpm does not

Hallo Jean-Marc!
Obviously I had a bad day yesterday, because I cannot reproduce my own
solution. I am sorry for confusing the list.

Hallo Lyxers!
A month ago I had the problem using ttf-fonts with spaces in their
names. With the help of some other lyxers I now found the solution.
If you want to use a font like this:
-ttf-aldine401 bt-medium-r-normal-roman-0-0-0-0-p-0-iso8859-1
You have to put quotes only around the

It works, but only with the whole font-name. Therfore it is not
possible to use short-cuts als -*-humnst777. The consequence is that
the other shapes (eg. italic ord bold) does n

Hi,
I'm experimenting with xftt and I discovered that it is not possible
to use all TTF-Fonts available.
Fonts with spaces in their names are not loadable.
For example:
-ttf-humnst777 bt-medium-r-normal-roman-0-0-0-0-p-0-iso8859-1

do you have \screen_font_scalable false in your lyxrc? If so, try
removing it. This is what caused problems with my config, and caused lyx
to dfault to fixed.

it indeed says "unmatched", but why do I see the font in xfontsel?
And it works in netscape...
Hmmm...

If you use Micro$oft fonts, they are normally (at least on my computer)
called eg. "-monotype-times new roman".
But otherwise, I think you can just write: "-*-times new roman"

Hi,
I am having some trouble with ttf fonts in lyx 1.0.0 (let me know if
these problems are fixed in later versions). xfstt works, I think: I
can use fonts in Netscape and they show up in xfontsel.
One problem is that the font I would like to use is called times new
roman, and lyx doesn't se
