I was not implying that everybody wants it that way, but most
Ph.D. thesises that I have seen in my field ( Physics )work that way

PS: As far as I know there is no possibility to change the default by a
.lyixrc option, but it should be fairly easy to add this if somebody
really wants this fea
Hi fellow users
I have found out that auto-numbering of equations that have no label
can be enabled by typing math-number in the command buffer for
every equation that needs a number
My question now:
How can this be made the default in a similar way as for the
equation environment in LaTeX
