All, Update: I still could not track down the offending lines in my Unix *.lyx file, so I tried the following experiment. I logged onto my old Unix machine remotely, running Xwin32. I was able to start a Lyx session and create a simple one-line lyx file that contained only one sentence: "Th

Just a guess: A carriage return is treated differently in Unix and Dos, respectively. Did you do a "unix2dos" on your files under Unix? I think the real command is "recode" but "unix2dos" works on most systems. Hope this helps Ronald Clint Slatton wrote: Please help. I just changed jobs, and ha

Unix-to-PC migration

Please help. I just changed jobs, and had to go from using lyx on a Unix box at my old job to wanting to use it on a PC at my new job. I had it installed on my PC (Windows 2000), but I can't seem to open a *.lyx file that I created under Unix, once I copied that file over to my PC. Any ideas?
