I could be completely off here, but is not it possible to install rpm on
Slackware? Then you guys could get all these packages from RedHat's ftp
sites.

I want to use LyX 1.0.1 under Slackware Linux and need libXpm 3.4g (aka 4.7). I
couldn't get a
binary distribution, there is a 3.4f for Linux -and compilation's been
unsuccesfull after a lot of trials. Indeed libXpm discussion list states
the impossibility to do so.
