Use "psrip". http://packages.debian.org/unstable/text/psrip.html
I think there was also another very similar program, but psrip looked
slightly better.
The xpdf program also installs an executable called pdfimages,
so you could use ps2pdf and pdfimages to extract the image.

Try ps2eps on it. Then open the eps file with ghostview. Find the
cordinates of the lower-left and upper-right corner of the area you
interested in. Then manually edit the file to give it the new
boundingbox.
