OK I think you are right and that somehow Latex cant get itself into
the temp directory. Yap manages OK as when I create the dvi
manually and then do a view -> dvi from lyx it runs and sees OK.
Anyway, dead cat territory, I tried from the command line "lyx -dbg
3" and everything works. Him

Hi
Well I've just installed the Win32 version and it looks like I have a
similar problem. When I do a "View -> dvi" I get an error message
from Yap (the dvi viewer) saying test.dvi not found. A test.tex file is
created in this dir though. When I manually run latex off the
command line (had

Thanx for the quick response!
I downloaded the listings.cab package from ctan and installed it with the
miktex package manager. The package was really missing in my repository
folder. Then I restarted and tried again... but still no luck.
Any other ideas??

Hello,
I had a similar problem, and I solved it downloading the latest listings
package (which contains a patch) and overwriting the original files in tex
directories ...

Hi,
I've just installed the Ruurd Reitsma's windows port for lyx (qt). It
worked fine until I tried to view what I was writing...
"file not found..." is all I got.
I've had already installed MiKTeX before installing lyx... (but not in
the default directories though).
I've got Win98 SE on my mac

When I do this the disk thrashed for second as if something is happening, but
nothing does. I think maybe I am missing something.
