I am testing the 1.3.6 version on debian and I get consistent crashes with one
document that contains a lot of math (mostly math) and the text is in hebrew.
The problem seems to be in scrolling when preview is active and something
speciffic to the document, possibly either the amount of math or th

I quite like the .deb way of calling stuff
lyx-FRONTEND_VERSION-FIXLEVEL.DIST_ARCH.deb
although the '-', '_' and '.' still appear rather ad hoc.
Anyway, ATM we have a rather eclectic collection

Note that we have sarge debs on ftp.lyx.org now (as well as Ubuntu).

That should be fixed by the latest version of
http://wiki.lyx.org/uploads/LyX/Linux/lyx_1.3.6-0.lyx.org.1.diff (uploaded
yesterday). Did you use that?

Hello,
I was trying to create debian lyx 1.3.6 package for Sarge, following

This is probbaly the result of the build error below.

Hello George, I used your instructions on
http://wiki.lyx.org/LyX/Linux and it runs in a shell. There is only one
deb. in the parent-directory and one cannot install it:
debian:/home/gerhard# dpkg -i lyx_1.3.6-1_i386.deb

/usr/local/bin/lyx-1.3.x
Sorry.

Both 1.3.5 and 1.3.6 fix a number of bugs, so it is certainly worth it to
install them also for unix users. Normally that does go smooth ithout the
trouble you are having.

Hi,
I'm very interested to have a deb file for lyx-1.3.6.
What does it means apply lyx_1.3.4-2.diff.gz to
unpacked source lyx 1.3.6 ?
I tried to patch source with lyx_1.3.4-2.diff.gz but failed.
Thanks for further information about how to build an

You could try to apply
http://ftp.debian.org/debian/pool/main/l/lyx/lyx_1.3.4-2.diff.gz to your
unpacked source, chmod +x debian/rules, add a changelog entry with updated
version number in debian/changelog and then build .deb packages with
fakeroot debian/rules binary
If you do that and have

Have a look at config.log. It should contain a copy of the program
that is failing to compile together with the compiler error message.

Hi all,
I wanted to compile the newest version on my Debian Sarge:
./configure --with-frontend=qt
Configure ended with :
configure: error: Cannot compile a simple Qt executable. Check you have
the right $QTDIR !
libqt3-mt-dev is installed.
Any ideas?
