What I did was to place a figure float within a figure float to create
subfloats. Even with no text in the caption or graphics inserted, I get

It might help if you could post a minimal example that exhibits the errors.

What did you do exactly ? And what errors do you get ?

Hello,
I am experiencing problems with subfloats.
I would like to insert multiple figures in a float, so I followed the

Hi all,
Turns out the symptom happened when I ran LyX from the background instead of
from a terminal. I do that in my UMENU menu system. I took out the background
attribute to cure the View->Postscript problem, but now my UMENU terminal

Hi,
I want to create an author index for my document (using bibtex), but

natbib (I want apalike i.e. [Author, 2002], although natbib does create
an author index which works. I did find that I could live with abbrvnat
style, but,

Just one question: Can one do this directly in Lyx (when you are in
"math mode"), or do you have to use the raw LaTeX?

I take it that you never fired up lyx from the console so that you could
see any warning messages it printed out when it loaded your document?
