Still no luck.
I tried your suggestion, but when I tried to View->PDF Lyx came up with
an
error box saying dvipspost failed.
I then tried an slocate dvipspost which came up blank implying that I
don't
have a dvipspost converter?

I tried changing the out margin to quite a large value but still no sign of
change bars.
