It looks more like a Latex problem to me. What document class and packages are
you using?
Metrics for ecbx1440 are not available on my tetex 2.0.2 either.
None of my classes have ever asked for them.
Metrics for ecbx2074 are in tetex-extra package for debian.
Do you have these fonts installed?

I upgraded my LyX some time ago by installing a new RPM, rpm -q lyx
reports: lyx-1.3.3-1_qt. LyX worked ok before this, but ever since the
new rpm was installed I've been getting errors like these, which are
