of the buffer. I find myself constantly going to the end of the buffer to
continue writing my document and having to hit the back

bibliography items are written

LyX document, and referenced by numbers. However, in the
journal they want references by Author-year, and as far as I can
understand this can only be done by having the list of references
in *.bib files. I no nothing about BibTeX, and I am confused

It's not a bug but a feature of IEEE
It's working again. I re-installed LyX, but that didn't fix the problem. I
didn't want to re-install MikTeX for obvious reasons (it is working fine in
TeXStudio and it's slow to install).
Googling, I saw someone recommended using biber instead of bibtex in
Preferern
