Maybe that's a latex thing, but it seems strange/inappropriate. Either

Using the standard LyX bibliography (all the other options seem to
output errors in my documents) Is there a way to remove the column to
the left of the bibliographic items that lists their 'labels' in

That's strange. I'm using LyX 1.4.0 on OSX 10.3.9 and cmd-, opens
preferences while cmd-q quits. as it should do...
Now as far as fixing it on your machine, I'm afraid I have no idea..

I just upgraded from 1.3.something to 1.4.0 yesterday. It seemed
fine/better with what I was working on, but today I opened up an older
project and the output cuts off about half of the footnotes at the
bottom of each page! It was set to A4 paper size previously, and I
double checked that that
