I'm on Windows Vista Home Premium x64. I installed LyX version 1.5.6, and
towards the end of the installation it tried to do something with a printer
and gave error 0x800f0214. However when I ran LyX, nothing seemed to be
broken so I'm wondering if I can just ignore it. I googled 0x800f0214 and it

Yep, that did the trick. Thank you!

Maybe I should have uninstalled the old version of lyx first and then installed
the new one, Although I'm glad I didn't otherwise I couldn't be working at all
right now.

Hi,
I recently upgraded to the windows version 1.4.4.
In the new version all the old document class are not supported for some reason.
Classes like article, book, letter just don't appear in the drop down list of the
document class dialog. How can I fix this?
thanks,
Gary
Hi again,
I want my cross refrences to apear as (1.2) instead of 1.2.
In Latex this would be a piece of cake with \newcommand.
How do I acomplish this with Lyx?
thanks,
Gary

David your suggestion worked like a charm.
Richard, maybe I didn't understand what you were saying.

Hello again,
I believe I have found out why this happens: I think I need to include a
statement like
\newrefformat{lem}{Lemma~\ref{#1}}
in the latex preamble, where ~ would be a protected blank. Thanks to Pavel,
who got me thinking in this direction!

So it prints the number on the next line. How can I get lyx/latex to not do
this?
Thank you,
Gary.
All,
Is there an internal lyx command to insert .lyx files inside a
master file? What I do is use Matlab
to create a bunch of tables written out in lyx format and then manually I
insert them as LyX files, but I would like a more automatic method.
Thanks,
Gary

Hi,
I've got the following problem: I'm writing a scientific text with many
formulas. Now when I insert formulas into my text, sometimes they will
be splitted in half and displayed partly on one line and partly on the
line below.
How do I prevent lyx from breaking up formulas? With LaTeX, I coul
