You could also try pdflatex

Yes, can view the .lyx file with no problems in 'gv' also individual
images are viewable using 'gv' too !

I can't see alot of my included postscript images in LyX. A bounding box
appears, but no image.
I am running LyX version 1.0.4. On a Linux Debian system.
On the command line I get the following message :
Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
