Hello everybody,
I have written my diploma thesis using Lyx. Everything worked fine and it was
fun working with this program. But now I've got a problem with the text in
the list of figures.
My figures in the document do include the name of the figure and the source.
This looks like this:

Hi,
My thesis contains some things like algorithms and a few words that just
should not be spellchecked. Is there any way that I can tel LyX not to
spell-check them?
In Microsoft Word, there used to be a special 'language' that you could
mark text with which basically told the spell-checker t
Is there a graphics program which allows for easy inclusion of text,
graphics and math stuff like symbols and subscripts etc.?
Thanks,

I looked into doing what you have done (using pstricks), but decied
against it when I discovered that it was incompatible with pdflatex
I believe that some mathcal fonts may have the lower case, and some others do not.
In particular, I know that mathptmx does not have lower case,
but I'm not sure which fonts might have lower case.

You can't use pstricks with pdf. If you created it in dia,
then you should save it as .eps. Then run epstopdf on it to get a .pdf, or you can
use tex2pdf on your document, which will do the epstopdf automagically.
tex2pdf can be found at

Hi,
I had a look over the LyX docs, but I couldn't see how to do this (but
there is so much doc, I often don't know where to look).
I want to put a glossary of symbols into my thesis. It should be
structured like a table, with the symbol (usually math stuff) in the
left column, and a description
standard ones. It appears that you need custom
code in LyX to support some of these styles?
The uowthesis.sty style is based on the report style.
Thanks for any help,
Ben Stanley.
