The problem may be that there are spaces in the filename of your
document or in the full path to it.
E.g. /home/you/My Documents/Lyx Docs/mydoc.lyx will cause problems
when running LaTeX, because LaTeX doesn

libstdc++, you might be able to make a symlink in the /usr/lib directory
to a (newer) version in the same dir.
