Hello,
LyX 1.5.3 on Mepis Linux does not seem to be able to make use of
any of my spell checking libraries. I'm pretty sure I have them
all installed - ispell, aspell, etc; American and British English.

ispell, aspell, etc; American and British English. With ispell I get:
The spellchecker could not be started
Can't open /usr/lib/ispell/englis

Existing keybindings depend on the "e
FreeMind can handle simple documents. If you select all in Writer and
copy and paste into FreeMind, then you can export using the included
XSLT script (accessories folder) to LaTeX book or LaTeX article with
good results. We just got a bug report today that copy and paste from
Writer in FreeMin

Particularly, I am interested in whether styles (title, section, etc)
can be assigned with keystrokes. In FreeMind we use the F keys to assign
styles. So in my setup I have F1 for root, F2: Title, F3: Abstract, F4:

I installed a 1.4 version via Synaptic, to resolve as many dependencies
as possible. Then I uninstalled this version and installed 1.5.3 with
Kpackage.
I'm finding that I have lots of miss
