problem with spellchecking german documents

I tried to spellcheck a german document. The documentlanguage is set to german and everything works fine, except spellchecking. The spellchecker stop at every word which contain german umlauts (ü,ä,ö,Ü,Ä,Ö) or a sharp s (ß). If I try "Insert in personal dictionary" or "Insert in personal dictiona
