Dear Fellow LyXers,
Some of you have been using my mail-merge and envelope
software called LyxDogs. I finally killed the only really
ugly bug and have released LyxDogs up on freshmeat.
My thanks to the lyx users and developers that helped me
with these python classes.

Dear LyX users,
I have upgraded and unifed the envelope and mail-merge software
that I use everyday with LyX. It is available at:
http://emptydog.com/geekland/gl_lyx.html
and the download is called: LyxDogs
And I am happy to support the use of it and answer any questions.

Forget your perfect offering.
There is a crack, a crack in everything.
That's how the light gets in.

, I'll be happy to help.
If you change the offset so that it works on another kind of printer,
please send me the offset so I can add it to the manual.
Thanks for the help and enjoy...

Greetings,
When I create a letter-layout document and have no "My Address", the
closing and signature are flush left. But if I use a "My Address, the
closing and the signature move to the middle of the page.
Is there a way to keep them on the left in all cases?

Now works with LyX 1.2 and big Canandian addresses.

The answers to my envelope question were all for things outside of
Lyx. So I wrote my own similar solution in python. It works on my
HP 1100 with the center envelope slot.

Does anyone have a solution to printing envelopes with LyX?
In staroffice, I just fiddled with the page margins and a couple
of frames and was able to use the envelope slot of my HP laserjet.
But who needs 55Mb to print a letter and an envelope?
Help me, Mr. Wizard...

To have the header "Lastname - pageNumber"
In document layout menu:
set page to fancy
beginning of document in Tex:
\rhead{}
\cfoot{}
where you want page numbers to start:
\setcounter{page}{1}
\rhead{Harris - \thepage}

LyX-kinder:
Putting date{} in the preamble turned off the date in my book.
With fancy headers turned on, I set \rhead{} in Tex on the first
page and put \rhead{Harris - \thepage} on the page I wanted numbering
to begin on.
Thanks to Herbert Voss for the help!

Dear LyX users,
I am using the plain book layout for my document and
I need to use the standard publishing-industry header:
Lastname-PageNumber ie, Harris-1.
Is this possible in LyX? If it is, please let me
know how to implement it.
Respectfully,
