I compiled and installed LyX 2.0.1 on Bodhi Linux (Ubuntu based with
Enlightenment desktop). Everything work great except that there is no
graphic in the DVI output, only empty rectangles.
The pdf output shows graphics perfectly and any final pdf output is OK
too.

I compiled and installed LyX 1.5.0 beta1 on Ubuntu 6.10. It seems a
little faster than 1.4 series. I wanted to try it especially for UTF-8
as Ubuntu 6.10 is UTF-8 based by default (like all modern linux
distros).

I'm using beamer class for a pdf presentation of Gimp next week. In a slide, I
use a block box written using ERT. My problem is that I want to insert a right
triangle to mimic a right arrow. The symbol is \triangleright but I dont't know
how to insert it inside the ER
I updated urw-fonts to version 2.3-1.noarch.rpm and everything is now OK. I
found the solution in a fedora core users list (by googling the Internet). Some
urw fonnts where broken in the older urw packages.

I had the same problem (Mandrake 9.0) even if qt3-devel was previously installed.
Here is my solution if you decide to compile from rpm source.
As root, after downloading lyx-1.3.1-1-qt.src.rpm, in a terminal:
ln -s /usr/lib/qt3 /usr/lib/qt
QTDIR=/usr/lib/qt
PATH=$QTDIR/bin:$PATH
MANPATH=$QTDIR/m
