Is there any documentation on the LyX file format? I'd like to
integrate an import function for LyX files in one of my programs
written in Java.

My System: SuSE 6.3 with many patches. I just opened the dialog,
changed something and immediately saved (after making a backup, of
course) - no problems anymore.

converting Word 6
documents to LaTeX, but I never tried it. Also, Word 6 is not really
the newest one, but you should be able to save the document as Word 6
with Office 95 or later.

If you rename the style, for example to "Teil" this should change the
label and still leave the LatexName "part". I never tried this and am
