In the very beginning of the doc enter:
\pagenumbering{roman}
and on the top of the first page with arabic-numbers
enter:
\pagenumbering{arabic}
\setcounter{page}{7}
where the "7" of course is to be replaced with whatever page you're
at.

I can establish new documents with bib based on the same bibtex data.
Do I do anything wrong, or what have I overlooked?
