used to get numbered citations ( e.g [1] ...) and now I see something

Yes, I am running WinXP. I tried running spell checker in LyX as an
administrator without success in adding new words to a dictionary. So
there should not be a conflict with the rights management.
Any other suggestions please?

my section headings are often too long, so they don't fit into the
header line respectively on one line in the TOC. Using LaTeX one can
use something like
\section[short text]{long text}
Is it possible to do the same in LyX?
