Dear list,
there is no question: LyX 1.5.0 is a very great jump in improvement if you
think about the whole thing. But it seems to me that the importance of a very
quick Mathed is underestimated by the development.
Although LyX is generally improving its comfort, Mathed goes the opposite way.
Dear list,
although in general LyX was improved in many details, one inconvenience occurs
according to Mathed.
You can only get the pair of round brackets () but no longer the brackets for
sets or the sharp-cornered brackets [] by using ALT-M-8 or ALT-M-9 .

I am afraid that the description of the navigation list bug was not precise
enough:
the problem with the german umlauts does only occur in the table of contents
(TOC).
LyX belongs IMHO to the really great software on Linux systems as a whole. And
I use it for nearly 6 years now. But I must ad
Dear list,
I have a *very* annoying problem using german umlauts in LyX (and it is
surprisingly not possible to find anyone in the archive who seems to have a
similar problem and I apologize if i am wrong):
1. German umlauts are *not* displayed in the navigation list of LyX correctly,
neither

in $HOME/.fonts and ran fc-cache -fv. It succeeded, but no mathematical
symbol is displayed.
Lyx is such a great program. I cannot understand why distributors like SuSE do
not take any care of it.

Uff. Again the same question: why is Linux so fascinating since installing of
packages can be so very, very difficult and can take you whole days to get
things done? It is really a phaenomenon. Indeed.

these older features are
lacking the use of LyX did not increase the velocity of your work. It seems

LyX has
become much smaller since you have to learn the mathematical LaTeX commands
when using the TeX surrounding.
