I made another experiment today. I replaced Preview with Acrobat Reader 9.0
as a default on Mac OS Snow Leopard. Then the grid (net-like) image problem
was no longer a problem.
It appears that LyX on Mac OS Snow Leopard still has compatibility problems
that need to be fixed.

When I typesetted a LyX 1.6 file on Mac OS Snow Leopard, the pdf output came
with a grid image (like a net). But when I typesetted the same file on
Windows XP, the grid image problem did not appear and the pdf ouput looked
just perfectly well.

Hello, I used "\begin{subequations}" and "\end{subequations}" to have
equations in between. It worked on my two earlier research papers using LyX
1.6 mac os snow leopard. But suddenly the same way stopped working in a new
LyX file. I just can't figure it out. No clue at all. Can anyone help.
