Re: LyX 1.3.7 on Mac Intel?

I have tried 1.4.3 on Mac PowerPC, Mac Intel, and Windows XP, and I have found it too slow for my needs. 1.3.7 is far better as far as I am concerned. I am writing a book with more than 200 pages so far, and I have found the scrolling problems in 1.4.3 to be a limiting factor. I also have

Has anyone compiled LyX 1.3.7 on Mac Intel? If so, would you make it available? Thanks, Gerard Ateshian

Bennett, Great, thanks for the tip. I'll try recompiling, and if it doesn't work for some reason, I'll wait for your installer! Gerard On Jul 14, 2006, at 8:29 AM, <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: On Fri, 14 Jul 2006 00:55:28 -0400 "Gerard A. Ateshian" <[

Stephen, Thanks for the suggestions, but I am trying to do this on a Mac, so the batch file that you suggest won't work for me. Gerard On Jul 14, 2006, at 3:24 AM, Steve Harris wrote: Gerard A. Ateshian wrote: Hi, I am trying to run both LyX 1.4.2 (just compiled it) and 1.3.7 on

Hi, I am trying to run both LyX 1.4.2 (just compiled it) and 1.3.7 on my Mac (Powerbook G4, OS X 10.4.7). I would like to be able to start either version by simply clicking on the corresponding icon on my desktop. However, when I do that, LyX always sets the user directory to ~/Library/

Problems with 1.4.1 gui on Mac: Is this a bug?

2006-04-22 Thread Gerard A. Ateshian
I use LyX extensively for writing math equations and I often derive equations in LyX directly (rather than on paper). So a friendly gui is very helpful. I recently switched from LyX 1.3.7 to 1.4.1 (Mac OS X, Qt interface) and I have been very pleased with the improvements in 1.4.1. But th

When using a document class article (AMS), version 1.4.0 (Mac) does not display a box around an equation when using the \boxed command (used to work fine in 1.3.7). The box does show up when viewing the PDF output. Is there a setting that needs to be changed to toggle the display onscreen

Problem with equation numbering in amsbook

I am having trouble with equation numbering using the amsbook document class (LyX 1.3.5 on Mac OS X). The default equation numbering scheme for this class is \numberwithin{equation}{section}, however I would like to use \numberwithin{equation}{chapter}. I put this command in the preamble but
