Hi!
I'm using LyX 1.1.6fix4 to prepare a long document. I'm using a minipage
inside a table float to handle footnotes at the bottom of the table and not
at the bottom of the page. The problem I have is that footnotes are always
aligned with the main text, so when the tables (that have to be cen
Hi!
I'm a newbie, so this question maybe dumb, but why if I use the rotfloat
package, my table for example cannot be a float in LyX? That is, it won't
work unless I delete the "\begin_float tab" "\end_float" from the LyX file.
Will the table still behave like a float?
See the attachment below
Thanks. I found my problem and now it works. However, I have two questions.
Is there a way to eliminate the line that is created above the footnotes? It
just doesn't look good in the format that I have. Second question, I have
floating tables, but in a minipage it doesn't pay attention to the
Hi!
I'm trying to put a floating table in a minipage so I can have a footnote to
it just below the table instead of at the bottom of the page. But, when I
try to view the file with View->DVI I get three errors:
missing number, treated as zero.

Hi!
Is there a way in LyX to have a cross reference to a name, so that when I
convert the document to pdf using hyperref, that name is hyperlinked?
Thanks,
Enrique

Thanks, and I have a couple of questions.
In my LaTeX preamble I have:

But somehow tex2pdf does not set the directory correctly. It is missing a

This is a question for working with tex2pdf in LyX.
I have the following in my LaTeX preamble:

pdfsubject={My Thesis},

Hi,
How can I make the table caption (title) in a table float left justified?
LyX always centers the title with respect to the page not the width of the
table. I already tried Layout->Paragraph without success.
Thanks,
Enrique

First, let me know if I should only respond to the list or also cc to you
directly. Thanks for helping.
I think the problem also has to do with the type of document that I'm using.
I use the thesis.cls from Voss' LyX tips site.

Hi,
I use natbib.sty and agufull.bst
It seems that somehow there's a conflict with the babel package. However,
the dvi output doesn't get corrected by omitting babel, but the pdf output
does. Go figure!
Thanks,

Hi,
Is there a way to make LyX not use the \usepackage{babel} command? I'm using
hyperref and having Babel causes my bibtex references not to be hyphenated
properly. For now, I just export to TeX, comment out the babel package and
then convert with pdftex, but I would like to see the document
ell it how to hyphenate a last
name. Does this has to do with BibTeX?
Thanks again,

Hi,
I'm writing my thesis with the thesis.cls style and bibtex. I noticed when I
previewed my document with xdvi, that some references go past the right
margin of my page. They are not being hyphenated or parts of of them not
moved to the next line to fit correctly within the margins. This als
It seems, the problem is that hyperref redefines \contentsline, because it
needs additional information. So you have to provide the extra argument. If
I add the extra argument as shown below everything works fine with the
hyperref package.
%\addtocontents{lof}{\protect\contentsline {part}%

Herbert,
Yes, that did it! Thanks a lot.

This is the Thesis-Style for LyX in your very helpful LyX-Tips website.

Hi!
Could it be an unbalanced "}" in the class document? In this case I'm using
the thesis.cls of John Weiss. I cannot find any unbalanced } in the LaTeX
preamble.
Is there a quick way to check for unbalanced "}" in a long document (i.e.
thesis.cls).
Thanks,
