Currently, whenever I save a document, it additionally saves a
filename.lyx~ backup file (appended with a tilde). Is there a way to
disable this?
it is possible to redefine the ui colors... for example,
"set-color background black"
"set-color foreground grey"
etc.
but how would i go about having these the defaults ... ie. which config
file in ~/.lyx should these configurations be entered -- if at all
possible.

why does it not seem to be possible to input unicode characters (ie.
those with deadkeys) into lyx? ... as i can do with every other app i
use :|.
