I have uninstalled and re-installed Lyx to a path with no spaces in the name
(c:\bin\lyx) and I still cannot get the insert citation command to work.

Hi Janus,
I was using the plunsrt style...which looks like it was the source of the
trouble. I switched the style to unsrt, and now everything is in english.
Weird, I didn't think there was any language specific stuff in the
bibliography style.
