Hi,
still trying to get to the bottom of relyx in windows. I found an old archive

perl relyx script executes is due to python somehow. Can someone point me to
where python completes the 2nd half of the conversion? I d

Hi folks,
what is the trick to make relyx work in windows? I've found that I need to put
the .tex file in the bin directory where relyx.bat is so that it can find it,
but after that, the system complains that the conversion has failed.
Thanks,

William,
have you actually managed to make this work with LyX? If so, what is the trick?
Thanks,

Simply hitting \{ after you have left the first argument parant
Hi folks,
hope this question isn't too newbie!
I wanted to insert this command "\rule{0pt}{4.5ex}" in the element of an array.
I didn't want to use arraystretch
because one of the elements contained a 2x2 matrix, and I assume that would be
stretched too.
How do I get the 2nd argument? In the
ached). The same problem occurs in native miktex. Any ideas?

Brian Williams

Maybe the problem is that you have your user directory set to a directory with
spaces in the pathname? It may not be in this case, but I'm sure it will give
you trouble later.

Hi Herbert,
the file disappeared before I could get it... probably because it was in a
"temp" directory.
Could I have a copy please?
Many thanks,

Hi Geoff,
as a completely newbie, I've been finding ways to cheat to do exactly what you want.
I've attached my effort- doubtless there are much better ways of doing it.

Thanks Herbert, you are a genius!
Hope you don't mind a followup! :-) Is there a way to right justify the
equation numbers?
(I'm guessing the items in red are standard LaTeX macros I can find documented
somewhere?)
Thanks!

Hi folks,
looks like this isn't such a newbie question after all.
Maybe I should ask it more carefully.
I want to use LyX to produce systems of equations that look like this (output
exported from LyX):
$\left\{ \begin{array}{r}
(3-\lambda)C & + & 2D & = & 0\\
C & + & (4-\lambda)D & = & 0\
, then a 2 x 5 matrix right justified by column, and this takes a
boring number of keystrokes.
I tried defining a macro, but of course I can't edit it.
Is there any way of creating a macro that puts objects on the screen that you
can edit?
Thanks!
something?
Thanks,
Brian
