What does not work in 1.4.x (but will work in 1.5.0) is copying ÿ from other

I thought that too but last week i was really surprised about the following:
at least in lyx 1.4.2 and 1.4.3 on Winxp you can paste the contents of the windows clipboard by
pressing the middle

The external inset is nice in that it allows:
* Specifying an editor for the format, you can click on
an xfig inset to edit it. This may be useful for svg stuff.
i just want to note that clicking on the image to edit it can also be
done with the config i described
