line equation mode (because otherwise it quadruple spaced between lines)
so I basically wrot out 3 or 4 terms then hit ctrl-enter to go into
multiline

of error messages -- it can't understand most of the
latex commands.
I tried "tth" (Tex to html) and it works very well.
I only scanned the user manual (of course I had to

You can mark the line (for example by holding down Shift and pressing Down) and
then press backspace. It works for me, but it is a little bit tricky.

Sorry, but there is another problem:
If I have a multiline-equation produced with C-Enter, I can remove the
formula-labels with M-m S-N. Why doesn´t this work with a normal math-equation
(M-m d, but no C-Enter)? How can I remove such a label?

The NT port of LyX (http://www.cs.uu.nl/~stevens/personal/lyx/lyx.html)
seems a good solution for a laptop. It works handily on

and tried to import it to LyX, but it treated that statement as a TeX
style command and did not show the picture it

I also use LyX on Solaris 2.6 (amongst other platforms).
I think your TeX download from Sunfreeware is not the best for use with LyX
(directory structure conventions). I suggest to use the teTex distribution for
which you can download binaries and sources from
