Using NatbibTo set up LyX to use natbib, go to
Document→Settings→Bibliography and check natbib.
Add the following line to your LaTeX preamble:
\bibpunct{(}{)}{,}{a}{,}{,}
This specifies in-text punctuation options for citation
If I don't set the option "span colums", I get the pdf without any
table/figure(using xelatex). Do your need the tex or output pdf file?
