I noticed that LuaTeX has problems with certain unicode characters in
LyX 2.4.1.
So far, the list contains U+0361, U+034F, U+2E3A, U+2E3B.
"LaTeX Error: Unicode character [...} not set up for use with LaTeX."
As XeTeX is greyed out now, I cannot test if it has a problem as well.
