I am a heavy user of LyX under Mageia5 which has all the normal TexLive
stuff but does not provide tlmgr, TeX Live's package and configuration
manager.
What I am facing now is this 2.9 GiB 'texlive2016-20160523.iso - Ark'
monster in /Home/Downloads.

to tell the true the problem I encountered is not a bug in LyX 2.2 but a
mistake (I made) now displayed while before ignored (even
if present), hence it is an improvement, now LyX is more picky!

Thanks for the response Steve. I'm a junior member of a team
developing documentation for a Linux OS. We are authoring
in lyx then using other systems to handle translations into several,
in fact many, languages. I prefer the forum for keeping track of
discussions and will admit to not using som
