Sort of, yes, but only if the function assigned first isn't available at

I don't think so; the only packages "by type" uses are amsmath.sty and

Since then, when I try to load the Theorem-AMS-Bytype modules (using book
layout and
class), I get the error messages:
"Error reading module theorem-ams-bytype"
The strange thing is that the usual Theorems (AMS) module work

Hi,
I am stuck at this for hours now. I have a 30 page book in Tufte-book

in a single line. How do I do it?
Thanks.

though I am relatively new to Lyx but I think it's easy to do references on
this awesome app.
1.maintain a file with Bibtex references.
(you can just copy/paste the Bibtex in the website where you get the paper/book)
2.name the file and save it with .bib extension
3. in Lyx, go insert->List/TOC-

I am a student learning to use LyX for the first time, without any help. I
am not familiar with TeX and LaTeX at all.
The user's manual explains that you need to download a program with which to
create a database to do referencing. I have found a few sites where I'm

Hello,
I try to start an enumeration with a number > 1. Is it possible to do this in
lyx? The only way I found was to add die enumaration as plain latex (ERZ) and
to use \setcounter{enumi}{2}
the goal is:
(3) first item
(4) second item
...
Many thanks for help! - Tino

This line is from xyling.sty. I suppose it conflicts with some other package,
which defines \B before xyling is loaded.
