You can alternatively insert it directly, see sec. 16.4 of the Math manual that you find in LyX's

so I installed 1.6.1 and then it worked fine. I had wasted hours and
hours "fighting with" LyX then gave up and sought help. Thank you again.

The accents work for me with qt-4.5.0 (final) in Fedora 10.

Hello all.
I have searched for this for a long time, but could not find a satisfactory
solution.
I usually insert figures into tables (which reside inside figure floats).
The problem is that lyx automatically inserts white spaces above, below, to
the left and to the right of the figures.

Yes, I use KDE 4.2, which also uses Qt.
The best way to avoid a needless white gap under wrap floats is to use
the 'line span' setting in the wrap float settings. This counts only real
lines, no blank lines and a header is also 1 line.

should be as far as I can see.
Do you use any other Qt software or KDE? I guess you
have tried and it the characters works there?
If they work they problem may be:
1. something gone wrong with the compilation of the
Qtlibs.
2. somthing go

THIS is very likely the cause of your problems. Select 'Use default
placement' and let Latex figure out where it is best to put your images!!!
Also make sure the bounding boxes of your images are correct (or use the
clip option in LyX).

Hello,
I mainly use lyx to write project reports in english, but I recently had
reason to write one in swedish and had some problems with writing swedish
characters.
Whenever I type å, ä, ö or their uppercase equivalents on the keyboard, I
get the à character instead.
However, if I input the chara
